In September 2008 the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) was introduced and in September 2014 it was revised. It is a single framework for care, learning, and development for all children in all registered early years settings and schools from birth to the end of the reception class. We plan and implement a series of fun and interesting activities and experiences, over the course of a week. Wherever possible we include children's current interests. Written plans are displayed for parents to see. Daily activities are evaluated on and the notes used to inform future planning. Each key worker also makes regular notes on their key children, helping to plan for children’s individual needs and Next Steps in their development and learning.
Each family has secure online access (which is password protected) to their child's Learning Journal. The package we use is called Tapestry. This is where staff add photos, videos and general observations of your child having fun and learning new skills. We also encourage parents to upload photos and videos of their child at home or when they are out and about. It is a great way for us to share in your child's achievements and work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.
